Ways to Use It
- Dilute, Dilute, Dilute. This is considered a hot oil. Dilute more if you have very sensitive skin. If you are able to use it in a bath, use no more than 2 drops and no more than 1 percent in massage oils. Always test on a small part of skin before using.
- Diffuse with caution. It is best diffused mixed with other oils.
- Powerful purifier and enhances the action and activity of other oils.
- Good to use in cleaning. Add 1-2 drops to a wet washrag when wiping down counters.
- To refresh the mind and give the feeling of having more energy, vaporize 2 drops Cinnamon Bark and 4 drops Orange.

Recipes
Here are a few recipes involving Cinnamon Bark oil. *Please note: With any recipe's involving bath or massage blends, always test on a small part of your skin first before using all over your body. Please be sure your skin can handle the blend before being covered in it. Cinnamon Bark in particular, is a hot oil so make sure you can handle it on your skin before massaging. If it is too hot with the recipe, possibilities are to increase the carrier oil, diffuse the essential oils without the carrier oil, or you can add the essential oils to 4 ounces of pure water and use as a mist spray. If used as a mist spray, increase the essential oil drops accordingly.
Room Freshener with Aroma Lamp
- 6 drops Pine
- 6 drops Cinnamon Bark
- 5 drops Juniper Berry
- 3 drops Clove
Use a ceramic, marble, glass or porcelain aroma lamp. Add essential oils to the water. About 15 -20 drops of essential oils can be used at one time. Inhale vapors deeply for best results.
Carpet Freshener
- 60 drops Lavender
- 20 drops Cinnamon Bark
- 20 drops Orange
- 1/2 cup Bicarbonate of Soda
Mix all ingredients in a wide-mouthed glass jar and tighten cap. Set aside for 24 hours, to allow aromas to permeate the powder. Sprinkle over carpeting, leave for 10-15 minutes, then vacuum.
Pre-Event Massage Oil
- 5 drops Melissa
- 4 drops Roman Chamomile
- 4 drops Fennel Seed
- 3 drops Cinnamon Bark
- 3 drops Pink Grapefruit
- 1 drops Lavender
- 1 tablespoon F.C.O.
Massage formula into the back of the neck and the shoulders. Use twice -- 6 hours apart -- before the event. Helps overcome nervousness. Make sure you can handle it on your skin before massaging.
Bathroom Cleaner
- 50 drops Bergamot
- 100 drops Lavender
- 50 drops Cinnamon Bark
- 100 drops Lemon
- 100 drops Citronella
Store in a dark, glass bottle. Can be used many ways. Use on a damp cloth to clean counters, put a drop or two of the formula on the inside of the toilet paper roll, use in a diffuser, put 2-3 drops on a wet rag and wipe down counters and sink, add to a 4 ounce fine mist sprayer with 4 ounces of pure water and spritz the room liberally.
Spicy Potpourri
- 2 drops Nutmeg
- 1 drop Clove Bud
- 2 drops Cinnamon Bark
- Peel of 1 orange
- Other potpourri ingredients: Leaves, wood shavings, cleaned and dried fruit stones (peach, plum and apricot), dried flowers, cinnamon sticks, clove buds, whole nutmeg, etc.
Combine all ingredients in a plastic bag and let sit for a few days so the aroma can settle in to all of the potpourri ingredients. Put in container of your choice. can add extra drops of essential oils as the aroma fades.
