Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), which is also known as Sweet Almond Oil, is a cold-pressed carrier oil that is comparable to Rosehip Seed Oil in both its makeup and usage. Both Almond Oil and Rosehip Seed Oil are high in Linoleic (omega-6) and Oleic (omega-9) essential fatty acids, which are excellent for retaining moisture and revitalizing the skin’s natural oils. Almond Oil is also high in Vitamin D to help reduce redness and puffiness, and protect your skin from environmental elements. What’s even better is that Almond Oil does all of this without leaving a heavy or greasy residue!
Because of the nourishing components within Almond Oil, this carrier oil is wonderful for all skin types, especially for softening dry skin. It makes a good base for custom face and body care products.

Carrier Oils Refresher
Just as a reminder, carrier oils are oils that come from vegetables, nuts, or seeds. Their most common use is to dilute essential oils for topical application. Most carrier oils have therapeutic properties of their own, yet they do not lessen the therapeutic benefits of essential oils. Instead, carrier oils spread essential oils farther and make them easier on the skin.
